About Trojan Group

Trojan Construction Management Limited was formed in January 2012 by Shaun Welsh and David Thomas. Its inauguration pooled the extensive construction experience and knowledge of its Directors and its Management team. With our streamline resources, we can focus on clients’ needs, giving them the attention they deserve and expect, while keeping construction costs to a minimum.

At Trojan CML, we have set out to achieve the highest standards possible within the construction industry and our Management Team has drawn from its wealth of understanding of the processes involved, to ensure excellence is delivered at all times.

From an initial idea, right through to the completion of the project, we can manage every element. Design and Build and traditional forms of contract are catered for, due to our collaboration with our extended Design Team and extensive Specialist Sub-Contractor database.

Our “Partnering” ethic and a no-nonsense approach to Health and Safety, guarantees that reliability and high performance are always achieved during the build process.

At Trojan Construction Management we have seen our business thrive on its reputation of being able to deliver time after time. As a result, our secured workload has grown significantly year on year since our inception. We pride ourselves on being able to provide the same level of quality and commitment to our clients despite the rapid growth of our company.

Whilst our offices are based in South Wales, our workload has been spread throughout the United Kingdom, undertaking projects in Bristol, London, the Midlands, East Anglia, Liverpool, Manchester and Scotland, as well as more locally in Bridgend, Caerphilly and Nantgarw.

Clients such as KFC, Capita Symonds, Gastronomy Foods and Brandon Tool Hire have been quick to realise the potential for tapping into the experience and knowledge of our Directors and Management team.

Shaun Welsh

Commercial Director

Shaun is a dynamic and highly motivated individual who has taken the experience gained from working within large main contractor organisations for 20 years and put it into practice with Trojan Group.

Shaun’s involvement in the commercial management of a number of significant major projects throughout the UK is invaluable in the day to day commercial operation of the company and he brings the professionalism of the UK’s leading major contractors with him.

David Thomas

Construction Director

David’s technical abilities and problem solving attributes are a result of over 30 years of engineering and management experience, gained while involved in large building and Civil Engineering projects throughout the UK.

Commercially aware, David has been instrumental in saving clients significant sums of money due to his keen involvement in the Design process.

Nick Byrne

Construction Manager

Nick is an extremely experienced and knowledgeable Project Manager and Engineer who has successfully completed many commercial build projects while working with Shaun and David. Nicks commercial awareness and ability to manage tight build programmes and complete projects safely and to a high standard, makes him an essential part of the project team.

Ian Tovey

Contracts manager

With 35 years experience in the construction industry, Contracts Manager Ian is proving to be a valuable asset to the Trojan team. Ian continuously demonstrates a wide range of knowledge and skills, and has experience spanning across a wide range of developments, including housing association, private housing, refurbishment and commercial projects.

Ben Reece

Commercial Manager

Ben entered the construction industry in 2009 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. He has since garnered experience in a variety of roles as a QS; from steel frame construction, to council house refurbishment, landscaping, fire regulations upgrades and new-builds. This experience, along with academic achievements has given Ben a wealth of knowledge and proficiency in the field. Ben joined the company in March 2018 as Commercial Manager and is now an integral member of the Trojan team.

Geraint Thomas

Procurement Manager

Geraints role within Trojan Construction Management is to obtain best value from our supply chain and to manage the projects daily requirements from a procurement perspective. His many years experience in the construction industry has enabled him to fulfill his role, while building strong partnerships with suppliers, as well as closely monitoring costs in his supporting role to Shaun in the commercial department.

Zack James-Thomas

Quantity Surveyor

Since the formation of Trojan back in 2012, Zack has been actively involved in over 50 KFC projects, as well as other various projects across the UK. As well as overseeing current projects, Zack is a keen estimator and has established good connections with suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve the best possible project costs for clients. With over 8 years industry experience, coupled with his knowledge and understanding of the build process, Zack has proven to be a valuable asset to the Trojan team.

Joseph Thomas

Trainee Project Manager

Joseph started his career with Trojan as an assistant Site Manager, alongside our experienced site teams on commercial new build projects. Joseph has gained a significant amount of experience in a relatively short period and this, coupled with the job specific training undertaken, has resulted in him managing larger new build projects in his own right. Joseph is currently studying a part time degree in Project Management. As further technical and commercial experience is gained, he is proving to be a valuable member of the construction team.
